A new Apprentice Catering Equipment Technician, Antonio Wedderburn joined Gratte Brothers Catering Equipment Ltd on 16th September 2021 and will be reporting to Engineering Operations Manager, Leroy Fearon.
Antonio’s Apprenticeship will last 30 months and offers the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification whilst earning a salary and learning both on-the-job and more formally during one weekly block attendance per month at a training college. The combination of on-the-job and formal training will help to build his expertise and maximise his potential.
Given the skills shortage worsened by the pandemic and Brexit, it is even more vital now to support the next generation of Catering Engineers and help to bolster staff resources. A Graduate Engineer is already in place and there are plans to engage another Apprentice in the near future.
