Gratte Brothers Group (GBG) currently has an exciting job opportunity for a Buyer to join their team based in King’s Cross, London.

Reporting to the Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager, the successful candidate will purchase all materials and services required for the Company’s contracts, manage the provision of general materials to sites and the economical disposal of any surplus.

The buyer will negotiate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure the best possible terms are obtained. You will be responsible for sourcing and placing orders from the best sources in compliance with contract specs/schedule. In addition, you will negotiate and organise the return of all unwanted goods to suppliers for credit and resolve invoice disputes.

You will need to have an eye for detail as you will be required to ensure all acknowledgements received are checked for correct quantities, price and delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to ensure project teams are kept updated with any possible issues that may arise.

It is essential that you have previous experience working in a buyer position within a similar sector with a proven track record of buying and project management. You will need to have strong financial and commercial acumen, good time management and experience of working to deadlines, plus a proven track record of profitable negotiation of orders.

We are looking for an individual who possesses negotiation, communication and organisational skills with excellent commercial and financial acumen. You will have the ability to prioritise your workload, work to a high degree of accuracy and be able to work autonomously as efficiently as you do in a team environment.
