Back to School 2023
St Alban's School, Ipswich
Brief: Design development and the maintenance of commercial catering.

We were the Principal Contractor for this 6-week project with St Alban’s School, Ipswich. We completed this refurbishment ready for the new school year, September 2023. Works included stripping out the existing equipment, lifting the flooring, rewiring the room to a new layout and cut back water and waste. The walls were white-rocked, a new Altro floor laid, new grid ceiling with LED panels installed, new water and waste pipework fitted, a fresh air and ventilation system plus central island extraction installed, and then finished off with new stainless-steel units, benches and sinks.
St Felix' School
Brief: Design & build of commercial catering equipment, plus provision of ongoing maintenance.

This six-week turn-key project for St Felix’ School saw us provide the design and build of commercial catering equipment for their new kitchen, plus ongoing maintenance. We were the Principal Contractor for this project, and successfully navigated the challenge of undertaking the works while the school was occupied. We ensured safe passage and minimal disruption for the children by meticulously cordoning off our works area.
Works included; removing everything, including walls etc. we then supplied and fitted new wall coverings, a new floor, new grid ceiling with lights, a new extraction and fresh air system, new kitchen equipment and a fire-rated shutter.
Bush Hill Park School
Brief: Design development plus maintenance of a multi-storey school kitchen.

Working from a consultant’s brief, we delivered and installed a new kitchen for Bush Hill Park School, Enfield. As part of the brief, we also constructed walk-in cold rooms and installed a new extraction and fresh air canopy. Equipment installed included Rational combi ovens, iVaro unit, pass-through dishwasher, walk-in cold rooms and induction range.
St. Luke's School (formerly Runwell School)
Brief: The installation of a new school kitchen in this new-build site.

We provided the installation of this school kitchen into brand-new build, St Luke’s School (formerly Runwell School). Communication was prioritised, with regular meetings between the mechanical team and the client. As a result, we’re happy to report that there were no logistical challenges or delays on this project; we delivered on-time and on-budget. Main Contractor, Morgan Sindall, presented our team with an Excellence Award as recognition of our hard work. As always, post-sales we arranged a site visit to ensure the team were happy in their new space and provided support and training via video calls with the client’s team.
Trinity Road School
Brief: Design and installation of a new kitchen including construction of a walk-in cold room.

This project was undertaken in term-time, so, our team successfully and safely navigated the tight site access with minimal disruption to the students. We designed and delivered a new kitchen from a Gratte Brothers Catering Equipment Limited design, plus the construction of a walk-in cold room. Equipment installed included Unox combi ovens, pass-through dishwasher, walk-in cold room, induction range, hot & cold servery and fire shutter.
St John's School

As always, communication was prioritised for our project with St John’s School, with regular meetings between the mechanical team and the client. As a result, we’re happy to report that there were no logistical challenges or delays on this project; we delivered on-time and on-budget. We also provided post-sales support with the client’s catering team to ensure maximum efficiency was gained from the new kitchen equipment. In addition, we returned to site to check that the client was happy with their new space–we’re happy to report that they were!
