Gratte Brothers | Building Services Maintenance (GBBSM) has confirmed the appointment of Malcolm Basker (above left) and Tristan Goddard (above right) to its Board of Directors, effective 1st October 2025. Both will continue in their respective roles as Operations Director and Project Director while taking on their new responsibilities at Board level.
These appointments form part of a long-term strategy to strengthen GBBSM’s financial, operational and project delivery leadership, ensuring the business remains positioned for future growth and profitability.
About Malcolm Basker
Malcolm joined Gratte Brothers in 2000 as an Electrical Engineer. Over the next two decades he progressed through a range of roles, becoming Operations Director in 2022.
In support of GBBSM’s continued expansion, Malcolm was later appointed Project Director, drawing on his extensive experience in delivering major engineering projects. His long service reflects a deep commitment to the business and its people, something he traces back to his earliest days at Gratte Brothers when he experienced first-hand the company’s family led ethos and strong culture of support.
Malcolm remains a committed advocate for apprenticeships and early career development, regularly mentoring trainees and championing practical learning. His belief that young people should never hesitate to ask questions has shaped his leadership style throughout his career.
About Tristan Goddard
Tristan joined Gratte Brothers in 2018 as Operations Manager and quickly became central to overseeing day to day activities across the business. His focus on operational consistency and service quality led to his promotion to Operations Director in 2023.
Since then, Tristan has played a key role in building the strength and resilience of GBBSM’s operational teams, contributing to the divisions continued growth and delivery performance. His appointment to the Board reflects both his impact and the trust placed in his leadership.
