Part of the wider network of Almshouses, Wimbledon Almshouse provides low-cost accommodation for local people in need. Since 2003, Gratte Brothers has been providing engineering support by maintaining their aging plant room equipment. Quality & Family Values
Quality and family values are core to Gratte Brothers and we pride ourselves on developing solid connections to ensure our clients receive the best service. We therefore implemented a 4-week programme to renovate the plant room, stripping out redundant heating assets, boilers, pumps, pipework, valves and electrics.
A stainless steel flue header system was fitted and relocated to the chimney and a new gas safety system installed, including an electrical upgrade with the addition of isolator switches.
Replacement plant was comprised of Vaillant Ecotec boilers, heat exchanger, twin heating circulating pump set, a new gas installation and associated pipework, fully insulated pipework and weather compensating heating controls.
To ensure the residential flats gained benefits from the upgrades, 111 replacement radiator valves and thermostatic sensor heads were installed to enable residents to have better temperature control and energy saving.
