M&E specialist and general contractor, Gratte Brothers Limited (GBL) – ranked among the top 10 M&E contractors in the UK – has expanded its operations to the North of England with the opening of a new regional office in Manchester and the commencement of works on the MA5 data centre.
The strategic move allows GBL to enhance its service delivery across Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, and other key northern hubs. The expansion strengthens the company’s foothold in the data centre market and positions it to pursue wider infrastructure and general contracting opportunities across the North.

Remi Suzan, Managing Director at GBL, commented: “Establishing our Manchester office is a significant milestone for the business. While Gratte Brothers Group has a strong track record of delivering projects across the North and already operates from our Warrington office, this represents GBL’s first dedicated presence outside of London and the Southeast and, reinforces our commitment to bringing Gratte Brothers’ quality and expertise to the built environment in the North of England.”
In parallel with the Manchester office opening, GBL has also begun work on the MA5 data centre. As general contractor, the company is delivering M&E infrastructure and civil, structural and architectural (CSA) works within the live Manchester facility.

Joe Bradley, Operations Director at GBL and head of this new regional office, added: “Bringing Gratte Brothers Limited’s quality to the North has been in the pipeline for some time now and is an exciting next step for the business. With significant opportunities across the region, we are confident that our expertise and collaborative approach, partnered with the adept local supply chain, will be a welcome addition to the local construction industry.”
Gratte Brothers Group, of which GBL is one of five divisions, operates offices and facilities across the UK, including London, Warrington, Stevenage, Chelmsford, Worthing and Belfast.
